What People Say About Us

“Patrick Crowley is the best facilitator for leading group interaction and team building with whom I have engaged during my thirty-year career in government and academia.”

Mike Yaffe, PhD

Senior Executive in the Peacebuilding Field

“In January 2023, Patrick helped me stand up a new unit at my institute, comprising several sunsetting units and some new employees hired for the embryonic unit. For a two-day inaugural retreat, Patrick worked with me to craft a thoughtful and engaging agenda with clear objectives and desired outcomes. His welcoming, enthusiastic, and adaptive leadership style got everyone fully participating in a series of hands-on and cerebral exercises. By the end of the retreat, the group had congealed and transformed into a cohesive performing unit. People had become familiar with each other, open to learning more, and sharing their ideas and concerns with little hesitation. Most importantly, everyone came out of the retreat eager to work together. I am grateful to Patrick for his facilitation skills and experience in helping us get to that place so early in the formative period of the new unit.”

Reverend Cece Jones-Davis

Activist and Impact Strategist

“Patrick has a unique way of guiding us into the deep waters of difficult conversations with gentleness and incredible skill. A conversation with him is like a canoe ride into greater imagination and perspective. Because of his guidance, I am a facilitator that digs deeper into the wisdom in any room.”

Why Launch Creative Capacity Consulting Now?

I spent a good part of my thirties pursuing advanced degrees wanting a “real job” after years of being a freelance theatre maker, teaching artist and adjunct professor. I adored my creative life, but my wife and I had two (incredible) children and with Erika being an actor I decided I could be the steady one.

When I landed a job out of my PhD with the national government, I thought I’d stay ten years. A little past two years I was told my department was being “abolished” and that I was terminated without prejudice. I thought to myself, “I thought we abolished things like slavery not capacity building.” Sadly, it’s a familiar refrain, it wasn’t the first time that an education department was severed from my workplace with me inside it. It was disappointing because we were mid-stream with 30 eager and interested staffers and confusing because I was getting superlative praise from peers and VPs alike. Despite these things, my ten years became two and I was cut loose.

I learned a few things. One, I’m a creator through and through. Two, the need for creativity transcends the arts industries. I’m also tired of asking permission and justifying what I do. The value of the engagements I lead has been made abundantly clear for over two decades by the people who matter most—my participants. So, I created this company so I could go directly to you.

I created this company as a beacon to pull those who know that we need dynamic, engaging learning environments to create positive and durable social change. Those who know that the future we want will require more of us than just intellectualism. Those who know that we need each other to become better versions of ourselves and more than the sum of our parts. I have been immensely energized by building this company and assembling like-minded strivers who want fuller, more creative lives, and healthier more collaborative workplaces.

Let’s fill up our creative capacity until it overflows! We don’t need permission
